  I have a bulging disk in my back and went to see Dr Michael Madsen., an orthopedic surgeon. He told me after an MRI, there were no options, just fusion of the vertebra. Another Dr. Told me the same thing only using a different technique. The down time for this surgery is two to three months. I've been agonizing over this surgery and being down possibly 12 weeks. Then I saw a surgeon at CU and he is paid a salary, not the thousands of dollars the other two doctors would get This Dr says I do not need fusion of the vertebra . He says specialized physical therapy should fix the problem. Worst case scenery is that I have a much less invasive surgery where I'd be down 2-3 weeks at most, would fix my back. CU takes most insurance. I'll certainly never see those two doctors again.
